Children’s Book Festival Wicklow Library

The Children’s Book Festival is in full swing and the sun was shining when I drove down to Wicklow town this week to talk in to a wonderful bunch of kids from 4th class in the Wicklow Educate Together School.

I was delighted to discover that they were all reading my books but are also mad on writing stories too… the perfect combination.

We had a lovely time in the amazing library on Wicklow’s main street with its magnificent view out over Wicklow’s Harbour. .I always love being near the sea and the time passed far too quickly.

Afterwards I drove to Greystones to have lunch with a friend in The Beach Bar, one of my favourite spots as it overlooks the harbour there.

Happy Halloween and have lots of fun dressing up and reading spooky stories.

Children’s Book Festival 2013

The big annual Children’s Book Festival kicks off for the month of October.

I’m going to be busy visiting libraries and schools and bookshops all over the country, talking about books and reading and writing with lots of great young readers from all over Ireland.

I will be in Tipperary and Laois and Northern Ireland along with a few Dublin visits too. It’s always fun meeting everyone to talk about books. There will be lots of brilliant events all around Ireland so check out your local library or school library to see what’s happening and join in all the fun of the Festival!
